Step into a traditional Ayurvedic doctor’s kitchen and enjoy the rich, aromatic, chili-free tastes of this amazing masala. Given to Vaidya Mishra by his mother, Damyanti Devi, it is a tridoshic blend of 21 fresh spices. It stimulates kapha and balances vata, while enhancing agni, the digestive fire. It can mildly heating as it sharpens agni, however, it is good for most pitta body types, unless there is extremely high pitta/ high agni (very high metabolism).
This masala has been pre-toasted so it may be used to sprinkle on top of ready-made foods, including salads, sandwiches and soups. It may also be used as a regular masala for cooking.

Adding Mum's Masala to well diluted buttermilk, and sipping the buttermilk slowly (after mixing well with saliva) does wonders in case of post-digestive bloating/discomfort.

A great ingredient for beginner or sophisticated cooks. I use this product everyday. Whether it is a couple of pinches in non-curry dishes or full representation for South Asian fare, everyone always comments on how satisfying the dishes are.

Mum's Masala is fantastic spice mix--the flavor and taste of it, easy to use, nourishing and balancing and it goes well with almost everything! It is the "no brainer" masala for everyone new to Ayurvedic cooking--just sprinkle on your food and enjoy its tremendous benefits. I use it every day. I wish Vaidya will reveal the recipe one day so that I can pass it on to my family and friends who do not live in the USA.

This is a wonderful spice mix and since it is toasted, it's ready to use out of the package. So you can bring it with you when you travel and sprinkle it on your food. I add it to my coconut oil and let it warm up a little to release the flavors/aromas and then add my vegetables when cooking. It also tastes great with the organic split mung dahl.
