Coconut Oil (Organic)
Traditionally in Ayurveda, coconut oil is the massage oil of choise, particulalry in hot climate areas. It is known to have great pacifying power for the “fire” of the skin, the bhrajaka pitta dosha - Coconut oil brings soothing relief for many pitta related skin issues, dryness, rash, itch, and other issues that may be caused by extreme heat or overexposure to sunlight. Coconut oil does not act as a sunblock; however, its chemical make-up naturally soothes and cools the skin in hot climates and temperatures.
The SVA organic coconut oil is cold-pressed, and made in the traditional method, without the addition of harsh solvents or preservatives. Coming from the land of coconuts, Kerala, India, you can smell the fresh, raw coconut in this massage oil! It is great for cooking, too!
Precautions:
Coconut oil is somagenic and strongly cooling. Do not use in the wintertime (even pitta body types should not use in cold weather) as it can easily clog the physical channels, and cause imbalances.
