Bharangi is a herb that blends earthy vibration with "a" vibration. The "bh" sound in Sanskrit represents earthy vibration (as in bhumi, the Sanskrit word for earth), and the sound, "a," represents the light of the soul, the divine within everything. The special combination of these two vibrations allows bharangi to help the lungs and vocal chords to give a physical expression of the divine through your voice.
The syllable, "bha" signifies anything that is manifesting from the light of consciousness, either as sound or form. It means an expression or creation. Voice is one such divine expression.
The Sanskrit name for voice is swara, which literally means "reverberation of the Self." Because bharangi is able to bridge the gap between the divine and the earthy, it helps you to express your innermost, divine intelligence to come into the world as voice. This gives courage and confidence of expression on the subjective level and health to the lungs and vocal chords on the physical level.
Bharangi was first discovered by Rishi Brigu thousands of years ago, and is said to be used by the gods for decorating Lord Brahma. Brahma is the god in charge of creating the universe, and it is fitting that he would like the flowers of bharangi. Bharangi supports expression of the divine into physical creation (especially through sound or voice), and it is interesting to see that Brahma creates the universe by first creating sound.
Learn all about this remarkable herb in Vaidya Mishra's 30 minute audio lecture: Bharangi - Learn About A Divine Herb For The Lungs and Vocal Chords, available for instant download for $0.99. Vaidya goes into great detail here about how bharangi helps the physical lungs and vocal chords.
According to the ancient Sanskrit verses, bharangi can help breathing problems (swas), chronic sinusitis (pinasa), chronic cough (kas), and inflammation (shotha). It is helps improve digestion (pachani) and metabolism (dipani). In this lecture, you will also learn other important names and physical properties of this famous Ayurvedic herb straight from the Sanskrit verses.
You can see a video of the bharangi plant that Vaidya Mishra uses in this formulation as it is found growing in the wild. The effects of bharangi are real only if the proper plant is used.
The more divine the herb, the more of a risk there is of it being corrupted by a weak digestive system or poor liver. If the digestive and metabolic systems are full of toxins, the divinity in the herb will be overcome by the poor internal environment of the body, and the herb will lose its power. For this reason, Vaidya Mishra does not promote the raw herb to be taken in tablet form, but uses this herbal memory nectar as an alternative delivery system.
Herbal memory nectars like this one contain only the sukshma bhag (finest essence) and prabhavas (divine qualities) of the herb. They do not have to go through the digestive and metabolic system. They are absorbed transmucousally and are delivered immediately to the system in a form that is readily usable by the body. This delivery method carries the herb directly to the gaps in the physiology where its divine qualities can restore balance on the deepest level of the body.
