SVA Ashwagandha Transdermal Roll-on
Adaptogenic Herb in a Roll-on Delivery Medium
Modern medicine has identified stress as a leading cause of modern ailments. Most of us experience increasing daily demands of life. If we are unable to cope, we accumulate stress and fatigue, which adversely affects health. Ashwagandha is a scientifically resesarched adaptogenic herb that helps us cope with stress. It is also a wonderful herb for improving stamina. In fact, ashwa is the Sanskrit word for ‘horse’; and gandha is the word for ‘smell’. But another meaning of gandha is ‘essential character’. It is the character of horses to be strong. They possess great endurance and can easily cope with ever increasing workloads. Ashwagandha strengthens the nervous system and gives us the ability to withstand the ever-increasing demands of life.
Rasayana and Balya
Ashwagandha is a famous rasayana. The Charak Samhita defines rasayana: yad jarabhyadi nashanam tad rasayanam (that which slows aging and removes imbalances is rasayana.) In addition, ashwagandha has the balya prabhava. Bala can signify different kinds of strength and stamina: mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, immunological, and sexual. Ashwagandha mainly gives mental and physical strength, as well as sexual stamina.
Ashwagandha Contraindicated for High Pitta & Amavisha
Ashwagandha is contraindicated for most pitta body types, especially when a lot of amavisha (reactive toxins) are in the body because it has an ushna guna (warming physical effect) and ushna virya (heating potency). Ironically, high pitta people are often drawn to ashwagandha because they constantly put more and more stress on themselves and get burned out. Ashwagandha can easily make high pittas go even more into overdrive. So, it may not be the best herb for them, especially compared to herbs, foods and lifestyles that give more soma (cooling, nurturing, and stabilizing vibrational energy to the body).
SVA Ashwagandha Transdermal Roll-on Ideal for All Body Types
This roll-on delivers the balya prabhava (strengthening quality) of ashwagandha without the ushna guna (heating quality) and minimal ushna virya (heating potency). Because it doesn’t contain the gunas (physical properties) of ashwagandha, just its essence, you get the benefits of ashwagandha without the heating effect. When applied on the skin and/or marma energy points, the rasayana and balya prabhavas encapsulated in this roll-on get delivered instantly. This makes it the perfect delivery system for all constitutions, even the high pitta type.
