Good for high pitta individuals. Good for use at night - the organic fennel flavor molecules will help with digestion, cooling the digestive tract from the mouth onwards. The fennel flavor and the high calcium content are further pitta pacifying overall to ease into a good night's sleep.

The story behind the product:

The great seers of Ayurveda knew that the oral mucosa could absorb the medicinal value of herbs and deliver them to other organs and systems in a very efficient and powerful way. In effect dental care can be designed to also help other physical ailments. Vaidya Mishra's father, Vaidya Kameshwar Mishra, used that approach when he recomended that a student with a bad liver problem brush his teeth with a fresh stick of Guduchi stem every morning. After he moved to the West in 1994, Vaidya Mishra noticed far more dental health problems than in his village. Unfortunately, not only does modern life in the West lack the herbs of ayurvedic oral care, but it also lacks clean air and water and freshly prepared intelligent food - all important factors that play a major role in supporting good dental health. To compound the problem, non-herbal toothpastes are full of chemicals and artifical ingredients like SLS and Parabens. Not to mention synthetic preservatives and colors.

This inspired Vaidya Mishra to formulate authentic Ayurvedic oral hygiene products by using only organic and/or wild-crafted herbs and 100% natural preservatives.

    I have been looking for a good toothpaste my whole life, a toothpaste which is fully healthy and life-supporting on all levels. This toothpaste is the real deal. It not only cleans and freshens the oral cavity, but after several weeks use, my gums and teeth have never felt and looked healthier. I used to have some redness and irritation at the gum line, which is gone. Vaidya Mishra has hit a home run here. Everyone should try this organic fennel and/or the organic peppermint. Heartfelt thank you to Vaidya Mishra for such an excellent product!

    I was making my own toothpaste for a while our of baking soda and essential oils but this is so much better. The fennel soothes my irritated gums and I love the fact that I'm getting minerals from the clay as well. Excellent product!

    It took me a long time to order this toothpaste, because I thought I was completely satisfied with my old standby, Auromere, which I'd used for years. Nothing can get my mouth to feel cleaner than Auromere, I thought.
    Wrong. This toothpaste takes freshness to a new level. I've never had my mouth feel so clean before. Now I can't wait till it's time to brush my teeth!

    I was given a sample of this toothpaste and the peppermint one at a festival in LA last year. I was reluctant at first thinking it was just another product being pushed at a spiritual festival. Happy to say that I tried both and LOVE them! I just ordered some for my Dad and myself.

    Vaidya Mishra's fennel toothpaste tastes so delicious, it makes me look forward to brushing my teeth! After brushing, my whole mouth feels delightfully fresh and clean in a way that ordinary toothpaste doesn't achieve. A small dab is all that is needed to experience great results, so a tube lasts a long time.

    It sounds crazy, but I literally love to brush my teeth because of this toothpaste. I will alternate between this and the peppermint to add variety and get the benefits of each. The peppermint especially clears my channels, throat and head and makes my voice sound better. The fennel soothes, cleans and sharpens my taste buds.
